Games[]
Yoshi series[]
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[]
Naval Piranha first appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island as the second boss of the third world in the level Naval Piranha's Castle.
When starting battle, Naval Piranha is seen to be an ordinary Piranha Plant until Kamek comes along and grows it to a gigantic size. Then, Naval Piranha attempts to injure the Blue Yoshi by spitting out Nipper Plants and charging, though it will sometimes do a mock charge.
In order for Blue Yoshi to get back at it, he must throw an egg at its bumpy spot with two bandages put perpendicular across each other to form an X. However, an egg needs to be hit against the wall as the bumpy spot doesn't go up to Blue Yoshi. After a hit, it attempts to headbutt Blue Yoshi. Three times total results in Naval Piranha being defeated. Then, access is open to the fourth world.
A famous cheat (which is carried over to the remake) allows Naval Piranha to be defeated before battle and being enlarged. To do this, Blue Yoshi must throw an egg at it, but not stand on the platform where the battle takes place. Then Kamek will come and say, "OH MY!!!". This technically makes Naval Piranha the easiest boss in the game.

Mario Party Advance[]
Naval Piranha once again appears in Mario Party Advance.
In the game, Naval Piranha appears as a boss in the mode Bowserstein! where Bowser organises a duel between the player and Naval Piranha in the minigame Koopa Kurl. Completing this challenge allows the player to keep the minigame.
